Chapter 17

A pair of eyes was firmly trained onto Dark as he was waiting in the doorway. With her superior night vision the vampire could clearly see him standing in the shadows, although the falling snow washed out some of the details. It did not matter. She had observed him for some time and now that he was no longer approaching the coven, she decided it was time to make her move.

Silently she slid down from the low roof she had occupied, hiding in the shadows of a chimney, and dropped down onto the street. Without a moment’s hesitation she moved along the street, disregarding the loud creaking noises her shoes made in the snow. With long strides she quickly paced the length of the street and shortened the distance between herself and Dark.
